About AutoFill
We Didn't Set Out to Build a Company. We Built a System to Save Our Own Rental First.
Before AutoFill served a single client, it was the system we built to make our own short-term rental actually perform, forged under real financial stakes, not theory. Now we're sharing that same system with other owners who want the same return without giving up control to get it.
This wasn't built to sell. It was built to work.
Meet Lashan

Co-Founder / CTO, theNetStuff
I'm Lashan. I co-founded theNetStuff, a web design, digital marketing and technology consulting agency, back in 2011, and I also founded Two Guys with Balls, an ecommerce business selling premium used golf balls. AutoFill isn't a separate company, it's theNetStuff's dedicated short-term rental consulting practice, built on that same technology and automation experience, just pointed specifically at short-term rentals now.
Skin in the Game, Not Just Opinions
I started the way a lot of hosts do, listing a property and hiring a management company to run it. What I found was a company managing dozens of properties across an entire portfolio, mine included, treating each one as one more account rather than a business whose outcome actually rode on how well it did. Guest response times slipped, small details got missed, the kind of things that only matter when you're the one who feels it when a booking falls through. That experience is what led me to take it back and run it myself instead.
I currently own and operate two short-term rentals in Wisconsin Dells, so when I set up a pricing rule or write a messaging flow, it's the same system running my own calendar that week. I've also had short-term rentals in Milwaukee in the past, so I've seen a market shift and a portfolio evolve, not just a single property stay static for years.
Underneath the short-term side, I've been a long-term real estate investor for years, which means I've spent a lot of time evaluating whether a property is actually worth buying in the first place, not just how to run it once you own it. Cash flow, appreciation potential, and local short-term rental regulations, often the single most complicated part of any purchase, all factor into that kind of evaluation. That's part of what I bring to a consulting engagement too, helping someone figure out whether a specific property is a smart buy before they own it, not just how to optimize it after.
Nobody feels a missed booking the way the owner does.
We Didn’t Start in Short-Term Rentals. We Started at Enterprise Scale.
Before any of this, two decades were spent leading technology and process transformation for large global organizations. That work has included shaping enterprise-wide AI strategy for a multi-billion-dollar manufacturer, leading a systems overhaul across HR and payroll that delivered millions in savings, and implementing enterprise software for household consumer brands across five continents. Earlier still, there was a stretch as a hands-on developer, actually writing the software before eventually leading the strategy around it.
That same problem-solving now also runs Two Guys with Balls, an ecommerce business built from scratch, and theNetStuff, the technology consulting practice I co-founded in 2011. TheNetStuff has grown well beyond web, SEO, and marketing into full technology consulting, helping small businesses run more efficiently on both the front end and the back end, the same range that eventually turned toward short-term rentals.
Guest messaging automation, channel sync, and pricing rules are a smaller version of the same discipline that used to mean multi-million-dollar systems projects. The difference is scale, not rigor.

Two Backgrounds Most Hosts Have to Choose Between
A host typically ends up choosing between someone who deeply understands short-term rentals but has never built a real system before, or someone who's a genuinely skilled automation and marketing person but has never actually run a listing and doesn't know why a guest messages at 11pm the night before check-in.
I didn't have to choose. The rentals keep the advice honest. The outside experience keeps the systems from being built like everyone else's.
It also means I don't push every available tool just because it exists. There are dozens of apps promising to help with some piece of running a rental, and most hosts don't need most of them. Part of the value I provide is knowing which ones actually make sense for your specific setup, and being fine telling you to skip the rest.

What We’re Not
- We're not a coach selling a course on how to get started.
- We're not a marketing agency that's never configured a PMS.
- We're not a full-service property manager taking over your listing, except in Wisconsin Dells, where that's a separate, clearly labeled offering.
We build the systems. You stay the host.
